diptico pisa

Since Pisa is only one hour away by train from Florence we decided we had to go. As the tower is such a famous image is sort of amazing seeing it in person. We were not going to climb the tower as we have read somewhere online it was 30€ which we considered crazy, but when we went to the ticket office to investigate and found out it was 18€ (still a little bit overpriced in my opinion) we decided we needed to visit it. And let’s be honest I really wanted to get inside – who knows when I’ll be able to return? I just had to.
As usual I enjoyed the sights (there’s something special about seeing the city from that point of view) and since the weather was incredible, we even sunbathed for a while.
With the entrance you are allowed to visit the cathedral too, which I consider more impressive than the cathedral from Florence, but that’s just my point of view.
You should definitely visit Pisa, you won’t regret.

  1. Pisa is such a lovely little town, isn’t it? I’m glad you liked it!
Too bad the entrance to the tower was so expensive – I don’t think I’ve ever been inside. Still, I’m glad it was worth the cost!

  2. When we went to Florence last year, we flew into Pisa. I hadn’t heard much about it, so we didn’t take the time to check out the tower (except from the plane) and the town. But it sounds like it’s worth the time and expense..your photos are soo pretty!
